'Sirenarum Vocare' is entered & showing at this years Coffee Art Project

(via The Coffee Art Project)
The Coffee Art Project is a high profile art competition linked to the theme of coffee and is one of the core initiatives of UK Coffee Week 2013.

Emerging artists specialising in all media types will be asked to submit a unique piece of artwork that connects to coffee or coffee shop experience.

The work submitted can be any form of art, including painting, drawings, photography, film, design, sculpture, conceptual art, etc., providing that it has a justifiable link to coffee.

The winning artist will win a cash prize of £1,500. Five other shortlisted runners-up will also receive £250. Submitted works will be displayed at a pop-up exhibition/gallery and cafe venue in London in April 2013 and at this year’s London Coffee Festival at the Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane on 25-28 April 2013, where winners will be announced.

Artwork submitted will be auctioned at The London Coffee Festival with all proceeds from this and all net proceeds from sponsors going directly to support much-needed clean water and sanitation initiatives in coffee producing countries

This competition aims to showcase the creativity and talents of emerging artists, while engaging a deep spirit of community among those who share a passion for great coffee and coffee shops.

The ultimate objective of this programme, however, is to raise valuable funds for and awareness of Project Waterfall, which supports clean water and sanitation initiatives, this year in the Mbulu District in Tanzania, in partnership with WaterAid charity.
